Back out into the cold and wind we go. I know finding the "right" landscape can be a difficult task until you remember that anything outside the house is technically a landscape. I did however, add a few shots that are not recent just for color.
shot one is my poor snow covered raspberry patch and the trees behind.
Next is Whiteface Mt.
the rest are just to add color,
Champlain valley from NY side,
I still miss my bridge to Vt.
the road home,

Tom, you did a nice job with your photos. They have great composition. I really like the one of the fence and the road. Very strong lines and the coloring is nice with the added red color to contrast the white. The pictures of the bridge are very neat as well....oh to see green grass and trees again soon would be very welcomed! However I like the comment you have on the last photo - the road home! Very appealing like you'd like to walk down the road to see where it leads. Nice lines with the road having the grass patch up the middle - nice use of the RofT. Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteTom, I love the one where the fence and road lead you to the red roofed buildings, it showed a nice example of almost complementary colors, where they aren't right across from each other on the color wheel but are all almost equally spaced around the wheel.
ReplyDeleteIt seems Tom we are on opposite sides of that bridge. I should take a photo from the Vermont side when they finish it and you could take one from the New York side. What a small world we live it.
ReplyDeleteI was actually impressed with how the bridge photo came out considering how far away I was with my little camera, I was standing only a few feet over from where the shot above of the valley was taken from.
ReplyDeleteEarlier they said the bridge was ahead of schedule now they say it is behind ( sigh ) alas Vermont is not as close as it was before.
I really love "The road home" photo! It really makes me feel as though it will bring you home. Nice photos!
ReplyDeleteThe fence to red barn is perfect, quintessential VT and beautifully composed. My other faves are road home (striking color and composition although I'd have loved a rule of thirds horizon, but this was pre-class)and the raspberry patch. It's a gorgeous winter shot with all the layers of white and the lovely backlighting setting it off.
